Mirsoft is a great site if you want to relive old memories and explore the history of game music. Dr. Spa's reviews:
"Some cool remixes" (by Dr. Spa, 30 May 2008) [8/10] If you want some cool Simpsons theme remixes, take a look at this. From full-length accurate tracks to 3k chip versions, there's a lot of tunes to go around! King of Parking: Game rip "FAB Tunes - well, one is fab!" (by Dr. Spa, 21 May 2008) [10/10] The first tune which is the one that comes first in the playlist in the game is FAB!!! It really proves that you don't need special effects you find in newer modules to make a great tune. It has a great melody and lots of development. My music teacher tells me to write non-repetitive songs that sticks with a melody, but develops it. Gamemusic often betrays this, but not this one - no sir!!! It really sounds like something from somewhere else - perhaps an Amiga classic? However the game came with very little documentation so it's hard to track down the maker. The other tune is luke warm. Resampling or changing the mixer settings could put it right, perhaps though. THIS WILL BE A SUPER ADDITION TO YOUR MOD COLLECTION! I.E. DOWNLOAD NOW (PS) I'm not just saying this cos I like the game. I never played it much and I only got it because the same company made Monkey Shines - which is also worth getting. RuneScape: Game rip "Official Largest Archive on Mirsoft and only 4MB" (by Dr. Spa, 21 May 2008) [7/10] If you are a fan of Runescape, you'll be pleased to get these 643 MIDI tunes. There are some great melodies in there which will certainly be a BIG addition to your collection. Note: The unzipped archive is 5 times the zipped version. Temple Tantrum: Game rip "The Best MIDIs Ever!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 21 May 2008) [10/10] I think these midis are simply great. Super melodies and rhythms and they are very suitable for the game - which is based on ancient temples. It makes good use of guitars and bass instruments and works with the annoying old guitar harmonics, making them sound great. I would seriously recommend this to someone who likes MIDIs. Even as MODs they'd be good. I, however have achieved best results playing these on a mac with Quicktime. They still play fine on PC (better with QT), but they were designed for a mac game you must understand. Overall, new pcs should play them absolutely fine! :) Sims, The: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Download Link" (by Dr. Spa, 19 Apr 2008) [10/10] The OverClocked link is no longer active. Here is a fresh one http://www.imeem.com/enzan/music/EovGUl9n/daknit_bard_of_tarot_sims_acidtechnotrip_oc_remix/ Tengen Tetris: Game rip "My first NSF review!" (by Dr. Spa, 5 Apr 2008) [8/10] Great tunes, especially the Brandinsky one. Does anyone know where to get this NESMusa thing to convert them to mod??? Contra: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Not as good as Super Contra (or Super C)" (by Dr. Spa, 24 Feb 2008) [7/10] I'm not that keen on the "enemy fortress" theme and I think the only reason I like Lis Vender's is because of the samples and her other remixes. The megamix is good though!!! It sounds like a brilliantly improved and resampled NESMusa song! I prefer the songs from Super Contra (or C), but that might be because I have the game, whilst I don't have Contra. Sarcophaser: Game rip "Emotive?" (by Dr. Spa, 9 Feb 2008) [6/10] It doesn't sound that "sad" to me, but then again it's hard to make a sad tune with old amiga instruments! Possibly a good target for a remixer! Sim City 2000: Game rip "Some nice tunes" (by Dr. Spa, 27 Jan 2008) [9/10] This archive has lots of different versions of the SC2000 themes. They have really nice themes, but you sort of get disappointed when you see how many MIDs there are and you find out that only about 12 are different themes. Still, it's worth a download if you liked playing this game. Stay away from the arranged midis archive! Turn it: Game rip "Happy song" (by Dr. Spa, 26 Jan 2008) [7/10] It's not bad... It's got a nice melody, even if it does sound a bit cheesey. Download it if you like those amiga-style soundtracks, but I wouldn't give it 10/10. Sim City 2000 (Arranged): Arranged/Remixed tunes "Butchering the classics!" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jan 2008) [3/10] These are just tacky remakes of the original SC2000 songs. They're using loud instruments and odd sounding drums and it's not sounding great. Download this if you think the SC2000 music is not loud and weird-sounding enough! Pocket Tanks: Game rip "Great Themes!" (by Dr. Spa, 6 Jan 2008) [9/10] I agree with J. Whilst the title tune is a bit unmelodic, but the ingame is very good. My tracker never seemed to play them right, because of all the channels. However, from listening to them in the game, I say these are a must-download! Day of the Tentacle: Game rip "'Introduction' tune" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Jan 2008) [8/10] The only memories I have of this game was from the trailer I saw on a 1996 magazine cover CD. The tune which was played in the backround was the introduction midi (track 1). I'd download this archive just for that one song. It's a great instrumental song which has a lot of character and sort of tells a story even without the pictures or words. This is the sort of thing that would sound great in a musical or opera - something that tells a story. I'm sorry I'm only talking about 1 of many, but I just want to emphasize how good this one is. Happy new year 2008! Sims, The: Game rip "Great Game = Great tunes = Long Review" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Jan 2008) [10/10] If you're a fan of what some people call "elevator music", then you'll love some of these. The buy, build and neighbourhood tunes are all good pieces of music, that would be the sort of thing you'd hear in a mall or very fancy elevators! The other tunes are from the sims radio stations, which play when a sim turn on their boombox or stereo. Some of these tunes have words that are sung by voice artists, but are in gibberish, or according to the producers "simlish". The sims is one of those very big games that most people have heard of and many own. Despite not being mentioned on Mirsoft, I'd also like to acknowledge all of the great music on the sims expansion packs. The best are particularly Unleashed, Hot Date and for eerie music lovers, Makin' Magic. House party also experimented in adding more radio stations to the old "Rock, Country and Classical". I forget exactly what they are, but I remember it had some dance, techno and even surf tunes! Who says MP3s are no good??! Marble Madness: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Disappointing" (by Dr. Spa, 25 Dec 2007) [2/10] I would of thought that a game with so many remakes would have good music to go with it. This tune is dull, monotone and you probably wouldn't notice it in the game. To someone who is a crazed MM fan then download if you must, but regular people - it's not worth it! Merry xmas all! Quake: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Q U A K E" (by Dr. Spa, 24 Dec 2007) [8/10] This is the first time I've seen MOD remixes of Quake! I personally think that Quake is the best shoot 'em up game ever!!! The great thing about this music is that the original WAV soundtracks from Quake has been made from a proper well-known band - Nine Inch Nails! The one by SUDS is really good because of its use of sound effects. After some time it includes LOADS of brutal noises - Rottweilers, Death sounds, Shooting noises, Ogre grunts and much more pain noises! The one by Dreamsection is outstanding!! Actually from Quake 3 but who cares? It's cool! If you're a fan of Quake then this is a must-get. Neon Wars: Game rip "Another masterpiece by DNA-Groove!" (by Dr. Spa, 24 Dec 2007) [8/10] This soundtrack is great! It's the sort of music that could really make a good game great! The ingame tune is the best, I think, so this is definitely a recommended download. If you like this, you'd also like: Pocket Tanks Super DX-Ball and DX-Ball MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL! Paperboy: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Experimental chip" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Dec 2007) [6/10] I like the way th highscore tune is in slow motion. It makes me think someone is dragging me somewhere. For 10k get it! 7th Legion: Game rip "Superb!" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Dec 2007) [8/10] This is a great soundtrack folks. It's filled with great rhythms and aggression. Also, the songs are up to 20 minutes long so there's a lot to love. If you've got a banged out modem which can't handle this file, this is what you should do: Step 1. Pick up modem. Step 2. Walk over to bin. Step 3. Put modem in bin. and you're set! Aggression: Game rip "Too Much Aggression" (by Dr. Spa, 15 Dec 2007) [7/10] It starts off in a sort of horror setting mode giving the song an atmosphere. Then here comes the saw wave and the song starts to create a rhythm... After that it becomes a sort of breakout style song - this is the good part!! After that the tone gets darker and it comes to an end. Mars Rising: Game rip "Great soundtrack" (by Dr. Spa, 9 Dec 2007) [8/10] This game has some cool songs in it. I think they sound better in the game than on their own though. I'd recommend this, but it might take a while to grow on you! =) Mega Man 5: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Nice collection" (by Dr. Spa, 9 Dec 2007) [6/10] ChargeMan - This one isn't very good. It sounds very draggish and boring. Most MM tunes have strong memorable melodies but this is too bland. MM5-Gravityman - Good for NESMusa standards but it just seems so fast, especially compared to Casey McCanns version! MM5-Gyroman - This seems a bit bland as well. It could do with a bit more pizazz to spice it up. It seems to steadily gain speed, as well. MM5-Logo - Again, too fast. Slow down NESMusa! MM5-Intro - Has a nice intro, but sort of fades out after 10 seconds or so. It's well made, but like with lots of these tunes, the originals are so very bland! GravityMan - This sounds a lot like Jazz Jackrabbit 2. They have very similar bass samples. However the melody does seem a bit off putting and takes a while to get used to. StarMan - Not bad. Too repetitive, I think Waveman - Phew, NESMusa has slowed down! Overall, the trackers are good, but the melodies are let's say, beyond repair! Phil's Mac World: Game rip "N.S BEAT RULEZ" (by Dr. Spa, 3 Dec 2007) [10/10] Phil's Mac World is an add-on world for the super Jump and run game, Monkey Shines. The song, N.S. Beat is a simply fantastic amiga song. It uses loads of the orignal amiga instruments, making great use of the tinewave. It has a lovely melody and uses. I think it's from North Star but am not sure. Anywho download it now or you'll lead an unfulfilled, bland life! Smashing Windows: Game rip "Smashing Windows XP!" (by Dr. Spa, 3 Dec 2007) [7/10] This is very small game indeed! Anyway, the music isn't small, its actually quite good... Airdance sounds a bit babyish but the After the rain is quite a composition. After the rain is also a song from Realmz, converted from MADF to MOD. It's the sort of song that sounds a bit rusty, but could be great if re-sampled. REMIX.MOD is a bit of a disappointment - ignore if you want, as it's not that good. Airdance is a mix of Polka and gamemusic, it sounds a bit too repetetive if you ask me. DX-Ball 2: Game rip "My first review for ages!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 25 Aug 2006) [8/10] These MODs are real gems folks! Mods like "Orbital Flower" are pieces of artwork. "Barnicle" is also very good, despite most of the beats being pre-mixed. "Catch it up" also reminds me of the song Get ready for this by 2unlimited! 8/10 Live and Let Die: Arranged/Remixed tunes "live and "please let me delete it!!!"" (by Dr. Spa, 28 Jun 2005) [3/10] very bitter music - using very few samples (and those of which are very discord) - it makes the two tunes sound pretty awful. I'd guess you'd like it if you were into the James Bond sorta thing though... Jazz Jackrabbit 2: The Secret Files: Game rip "Coulda been better..." (by Dr. Spa, 21 May 2005) [7/10] I dunno, the tune is quite good but compared to the music in JazzJackrabbit 2 it's a bit ahhm amatuer. I'm sure if it was called something else it would scrape a 9/10. I seem to recognise this music from all of the other extra levels I downloaded from the internet. Apparently, it was an "unwanted" song. Well, I'll give it a seven, because I like the samples and it sounds a bit like The Sims: Making Magic music! :) But really it is hard to rate a song that was shoved to one side because it was the worst. There are loads of worse songs in JazzJackrabbit like... ahhh... Can I just go? REVIEW OVER! Super DX-Ball: Game rip "Terrific" (by Dr. Spa, 25 Mar 2005) [10/10] These are absolutely great songs - I uploaded them with pleasure! Most of these tunes are based on the original tunes from DX-Ball and are remixes. The Tracker of these fantastic tunes is DNA-Groove, along with Sidewinder DNA-Groove makes the best breakout tunes there ever has been! 1943: Arranged/Remixed tunes "One More Time!" (by Dr. Spa, 19 Mar 2005) [7/10] This is a great theme tune! I haven't played this game yet, but this tune sounds awfully familiar. Anyway, I want to make this quick - I sort of listened to it in a rush and I only heard one third of it. But the parts which I did listen to sounded good, therefore I'm giving it a 7.5/10 Adventures of Lolo 3, The: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Really isn't worth downloading!" (by Dr. Spa, 30 Oct 2004) [7/10] Well, one thing I can tell you and I'm sure you will agree 10MB is alot for one song. Second thing is this isn't an amazing tune. The size might make you think that its something special - the only good thing is its extremely good quality! (Like the Age of Wonders music). It has a polka kind of melody and polka kind of instrements so it sounds rather dull and classical. Anyway I wont complain - many people like that sort of music so for classical lovers a 9/10 and for G-M lovers a 6/10. Thats an average of 7.5/10 >>>>>> 7.5/10 <<<<<<<< Ghosts 'n' Goblins: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Slow and sulky" (by Dr. Spa, 30 Oct 2004) [5/10] They're not bad it's just the melody is a bit dull and not very creative, it would make a good game over tune I think though. Like with most tunes if you played the game and you listen to the tunes over and over again, it'll sound much better. Crusader: No Regret: Game rip "No Regret whatsoever!" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Oct 2004) [10/10] If you dig amiga-style tunes, this is thing for you! I downloaded it after seeing how positive the reviews were for this. Anyway, if you're not much of an amiga fan this is still pretty much worth getting. The "XMAS.MOD" is one of the best amiga songs I've ever heard! It starts like a christmas song with lots of bells - but after about 20 seconds you get a really nice distortion guitar and a snare and well it gets really intense (unlike most amiga tunes). Anyway, In conclusion - best amiga songs ever! Crash Bandicoot: Arranged/Remixed tunes "$$$ CASH BANDICOOT $$$" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Sep 2004) [6/10] As you may know my real name is Jake Cracknell - I am the one who made these songs. In my opinion - there the first real songs I've ever made, let me go through them: Boulders (Island 1, Level 4) is a complex tune with lots of toms and drums. It doesn't have much, rhythm but it has a fair melody. Ok to listen to. I think you'd find Jungle Rollers (Island 1, Stage 2) to be complete VICE-VERCA. I give this a 6/10 Mega Man X4: Arranged/Remixed tunes "MegaMushroomMan!!" (by Dr. Spa, 9 Sep 2004) [7/10] The song I have uploaded here is called "Split Mushroom Stage". I downloaded it originally from the music archive on The Megaman Website. Most of the people there like it - I do too, but if it could of been a bit louder I'd give it an 8/10. Well done anyway No more Jetboards. If you like this tune check out the Magnet Man remix on Megaman lll which is also by No more Jetboards. Ms. Pacman: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Ms Pacman" (by Dr. Spa, 9 Sep 2004) [6/10] The song (if you can call it a song) is although only 6 seconds long is quite nice - a real kind of NES effect. I think that you should only download it if you like NES remixes. Giant Sisters Xmas: Game rip "Giant Sisters X /\/\ /-\ $" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Aug 2004) [9/10] The Best ones are the ones made by lizardking! Especially the title music (one of the best doskpop's I know). Jazzy is a really groovy song with a strong beat. Swamp walk is another of LizardKing's best hits, "Magic" is also another of LizardKing's Great tunes! The Jingle Bells' tunes are very good too especially the one by Loxley (Johan Svensson). City of Angels is good too, All in All - Definitely Worth getting Crackman 97: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Cracked up!" (by Dr. Spa, 7 Aug 2004) [7/10] Starts off well, the beginning is very annoying but it isnt that long and it'll soon pass over... After that it gets much much better, addding other instrements like the monobass and pizzacato and lots others. It turns into a really good old amiga peice! Starfox (Nintendo): Arranged/Remixed tunes "Full of stars!" (by Dr. Spa, 3 Aug 2004) [10/10] Very good quality music, I think the theme tune is the best, partly because it has so much acid remixes to it! There are so many tunes as well, you woudn't of been able to play the game without hearing a moment's silence. All the same, it is very good to convert them to XM or MADK-(MADK for PlayerPRO but always in your saving format eg. MadTracker = Mt2, and so on...). The thing is most ITs when played on a multi-tracker based program (one which opens all XM, MOD, IT, S3M, 669 etc..) it doesn't sound as good but when played on a tracker which opens only about 1, 2 or 3 formats like XM-Play of Impulse Tracker it sounds better. But with this, It doesn't matter at all! It just solunds its perfect self - Perfect action-packed tunes. (With memories stuffed in as well! :)) Super C: Arranged/Remixed tunes "I luv it as much as the MOD!" (by Dr. Spa, 3 Aug 2004) [10/10] Coool archive! Has nearly all of the stages and transitions - If you have played the game as I have - My faverite intellivision game - It as a MUST GET! It brings back all kinds of gamemusic memories of what Gamemusic used to sound like!! Level 1, Level 3 and Boss are probally the best! Level 1 - The one also in MOD version - is perfect, I mean nothing could improove this! Take a look and see! Level 3 has GREAT jungle rhythm to it, as being a jungle level it fits in superbly with the game! Boss just brings back memories. It sounds exactly like a mixture of how the arcade's used to sound like and what amusement arcade machines sound like now. A mixture of suspension and rock music. All in all if you don't get this you a missing out. Take a chance. Final Fantasy 2: Arranged/Remixed tunes "I just hope it was final!" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Aug 2004) [3/10] If you want better music look for it in FF9, FF8 or FF6. Whats wrong about this is that there are not much tunes to the game so its either "boss battle", "Join Them (themesong)" and "Castle" and alot more... The thing is is that these are just loads of remixes, worse still bad remixes. I hope it becomes unpopular on mirsoft. Football Glory: Game rip "F00TBALL!!" (by Dr. Spa, 30 Jul 2004) [7/10] Sounds like music to a very old game, as this is the medley of "As the saints go marvhing in". A nice remix of it with nice synthy samples. Not really like football but maybe ok for menu music ya know... F1 Race: Game rip "Formula 1 Race" (by Dr. Spa, 29 Jul 2004) [1/10] Only two samples!! A bummer for some, for people who haved played the game and liked it, you might think it worth but for people who haven't you wont want to download this. Modarchive gave it a 1/10 and so will I. Newzeland Story: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Isn't it supposed to be New Zealand Story?" (by Dr. Spa, 27 Jul 2004) [10/10] Slow but cool, great chill-out music ya know what I'm saying! It's so coool! Wire's one is only a chip remix but Jogeir's is the best, So calllm! Great gamemusic! An absolutely MMUUSSTT DDOOWWNNLLOOAADD!! Kajko & Kokosz: Game rip "What a weird name!" (by Dr. Spa, 27 Jul 2004) [3/10] ah, at last I have downloaded it - I keep forgetting to... Anyway I'm sure its a nice game but this song stinks, there are some hidden transitions and stuff which are better, but for most people I expect wont be able to play those. A classical peice or should I say a crappical peice. Mikie: Game rip "-- The same??? --" (by Dr. Spa, 25 Jul 2004) [5/10] Oi, this is the same music from the MOD version, I've listened to both of them and the MOD one has just been converted! Talk about cheating! I knew it sounded very simaliar. IK Plus: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Incredible!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 25 Jul 2004) [10/10] Good stuff!! They're all great... The best ones are the ones which sound clear, I mean so the real melody isn't loud enough... Take scorpian's one you can't hear the melody that well. Freak's one is the best nice synth-y filters, melody all clear and rocks like hell!! As for wires, his is good but maybe a little to plain, if you ask me. Freak deserves a few greetz, dont'e? GREEEEETINGS!! Boulder Dash: Game rip "Not Boulderdaesh this time eh?" (by Dr. Spa, 23 Jul 2004) [8/10] Quite creative actually, only using one sample, four tracks and 20 secs, hmmm... worth getting for 2k, don't ya think :). Bomb'X: Game rip "Bomb X (V/X) - (5/10)" (by Dr. Spa, 23 Jul 2004) [5/10] Starts out really happy happy happy, Shame it has to spoil it with that so called "guitar", without that it would be a 6/10 maybe a 7/10. After that it gets all weird, Honestly not worth it. Civilization: Game rip "Civilization!! (Phew! I spelt it right! ;))" (by Dr. Spa, 22 Jul 2004) [7/10] Nice memories from this game, I used to get the demo of this game from MacFormats around 1997-98. When I played it there was no music though... (Maybe its an added feature you get in the full version). Anyway a game like civilization doesn't really require music to be a good game, All it needs is soundfx - without those it would be rather boring, dont ya' think. Most of these MEDs are just soundfx - they are good but they're rather short... Most of them are 5 - 45 seconds. If you like collecting sound effects, you will love this, if not you might like the title music (if any, I forget if it did have title music or not!!!). Time Runners 30: Game rip "Is this music???" (by Dr. Spa, 22 Jul 2004) [1/10] Well, all it is is just a bunch of crazy people who probably want to make a rubbish game. When I heard this it put me off my appetite and I couldn’t eat for hours after that! “fren” is classified as weird/other, “tens” is too repetitive. Is this music??? Moon Patrol: Arranged/Remixed tunes "(Can't think of a title!)" (by Dr. Spa, 22 Jul 2004) [8/10] Yeah, Baby! Great tunes I think, Tr3forever has really scored this time!!! I haven’t tried it yet but when I convert his ITs to anything else (MOD’s XM’s or mostly MADKs) it all sounds a bit funny so I don’t really recommend converting them. As a musical rating I’d say these tunes are short yet cool and are worth getting (and reviewing!!!) Super Cars: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Not that super..." (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jul 2004) [6/10] A bit dull at the start, it takes a while for it to pick up a little... I suppose that’s Ben Daglish’s fault not wire’s - That’s a good thing about remixing, if someone said the melody is no good you can blame it on the person who made the original one! If I choose the soundtracks wire would remix, It would definitely be ghostbusters! I guess if you have played Super Cars lots of times, you would probably like the music - :) - Maybe that’s why I love the music from BOOM so much, I played it for 7 years now and that means I was 3 when I got it and it was late 1997!! The thing is is when people who have lived through the C64/Amiga/Arcade age has experienced that music for decades now and that is where the buzz about Memories, MEMORIES, MeMoRiEs, memORIes and the rest come from!!! I’ve been babbling on to much in this review!!! Goodbye, you Mirsoft-ors!!! Star Paws: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Rob Hubbard Rulez!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jul 2004) [10/10] I don’t think I ever have seen wire do a C64 remix which was originally by Rob Hubbard Since now... Rob Hubbard rulez OK!!! The one by PeZz is absolutely shocking!!! Nothing, I repeat nothing could improve this collection of MODs, XMs and S3Ms!!! DEFINITELY A MUST GET!!! Chuck Rock: Game rip "Let’s chuck rocks at Lubos! (Only Joking!)" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jul 2004) [4/10] Not in the best of quality, the Title tune has *really* bad quality - especially those guitars. The intro tune is very uhh... Jungle-y and quiet... This package is not in the least recommended and if I were you I’d download something else. Cold blood: Game rip "Hell gates opening..!" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jul 2004) [10/10] Talk about Tekno!!! This is just what I was looking for to show to my mate working at MadMouseGames... He asked for what seemed like HardTekno music With samples like great big Toms and stuff!! It reminds me of Hell and like it has gates and they open and you drift inside!!! Sort of like that 3D film they launched in 2003 in the UK where you had to where those glasses, What was it called??? Haunted house or something??? Anyway whatever the weather get it, keep it and if you really like it and wanna show support review it!!! Unreal: Game rip "Unreeeeeal" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jul 2004) [10/10] I sorry I couldn’t download this whole thing --been having tremendously bad internet speed (under 1.2k/sec). I had to download only a few... After looking at few reviews I downloaded the most recommended ones, Unreal Main Title and Mechanism eight. I’m telling you after listening to all music in my life - Unreal Main Title is a New type of gamemusic... From position 03 and on is a new world - a new world of music... Mechanism eight is nothing special probably a 7/10 on its own... Download Unreal and Unveil Great Rock Music Ultimate Gameboy Simulator: Game rip "It sure is Ultimate!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jul 2004) [9/10] What a great Medley! I seem to think there are thousands of tunes with this melody (Supercars 2, Outrun, Unkn001 from C64 (Medleys) and much more...) but I seem to think for some reason this was the best one and still is! All you need to do is turn the volume down a bit aware that the loud-ish samples wont harm you, Turn to MONO and play! P.S I would recommend to use Modplug --Much better quality than Protracker but if you have Protracker or something else it still ain't that bad... Alien Breed 3D 2: Game rip "How much aliens are there??!" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jul 2004) [6/10] Some very short and simple ones here... New well done is excellent --yes I know the playtime is only 8 seconds but it really is one of the best sound clips I’ve heard, It sounds like this clip could be used in an even more popular game like Final Fantasy!!! The other one is pathetic. I’m not just saying that, it has no melody at all, no samples except for a bass sound which you can’t hear and another of the same this time with a little drum at the start... The chances of the person you made THAT song doing a compo and not getting disqualified is the same odds as if a rock could talk! A 9/10 for “New Well Done”. A 1/10 for “packed test”. A.T.F. 2: Game rip "A Terrible F***" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Jul 2004) [2/10] This is the worst you can get --this cant even get even worse I'd rather live with a beehive on my head than listen to this a few times... Super C: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Super Contra!!!!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Jul 2004) [10/10] I love this game!!! I always remember playing it on the intellivision and heaing this great song!! This is the stage 1 part which might/probally be the best music on the intellivision! The samples might sound a little rough but it mostly the melody that count... This is where I add up the points: Melody-10/10 Structure-10/10 Sample Ranges-8/10 Samples-7/10 Non-Repetitivity-10/10 Gamemusic?-9/10 Listenability-10/10 Intro & Ending-10/10 Average is 9.25 --It deserves at least a 10/10 Summer Games: Game rip "Summer Games?? Summer Sleepy-time???" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Jul 2004) [1/10] Sounds more of a lullaby than a gamemusic. Takes after its size... Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Game rip "Jazz JackRabbit 2!!!!!!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Jul 2004) [10/10] MY FAVOURITE GAME EVER!!! This music is excellent --Even better than Age of Wonders! My favourite ones are Hell freezes over, Finale, Medival Jam and Tube Electric! I'm telling you folks you have got to get this, it only takes about 18 minutes so its well worth it...! I just recently regestered the game (A special copy for Mac) with this music on it! Its much better if you have the game, but it is still ever so cool without the game! Test Drive 2: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Racing; 3- 2- 1- Go!" (by Dr. Spa, 15 Jul 2004) [10/10] ...Well not really. The gamemusic is well done and well thought out but it isn't really racing music, Is it?! Ace 2: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Ace?? Maybe OK but I don't think it is ace..." (by Dr. Spa, 15 Jul 2004) [5/10] Nothing much to say about these various tunes... I think the one converted by speedball is ok although very high in simplicity. Matthew Simmons has done a very ugly one using C64 samples, the melody sounds more amiga than C64 so why does he pretend its C64?? Mikie: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Takin' the Mikk" (by Dr. Spa, 15 Jul 2004) [4/10] uhhh... It aint bad but it sure does get on your nerves after a while, Pure C64. I would not reccamend the theme level 1 aint bad, but just to warn you dreamfish is about so you may not want to listen to that one... I'd give it a 4/10. ZZZ_Unk_Various_Games: Arranged/Remixed tunes "The dump for MIDs" (by Dr. Spa, 14 Jul 2004) [7/10] This is the Dump place for MIDs. If you download them, as well as your music entertainment, you will/might also spot which games the music is from - these tunes are all of the tunes which are defently from a game but the game title is unknown... I have given info about one of them to mirsoft and the ones I looked at were farely good :). I'd say download it for the sake of mirsoft folks. 3D World Tennis: Game rip "I luv tennis!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 14 Jul 2004) [7/10] Tune's nice, not too sure about that first sample (the terza, terz and quarta) but apart from that its fine. Not the sort of thing to listen to over and over again; it must be menu or title music --I really couldn't bear hearing this while playing computer tennis... But I'd like it (in other words it would sound better) at the start, you know... Before a game your manager tells you some tips, encouragement and stuff, this is the sort of same thing but in music! It gets carried away with itself nearer the end, that will bring it down another 2 points. Crash Bandicoot: Arranged/Remixed tunes "My first PS1 game!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [10/10] These tunes are great!!! All of them I can remember from the game -- pecially Jungle rollers and boulders!! Suprisingly I didn't find the Menu/Map music but I might find that elsewhere... If you do a search for "crach bandicoot music MID" on google you will find them, thats how I did ;). Brat: Game rip "Bart the Brat" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [9/10] Grizzly is absalutely correct! He's done a nice good review! I agree. The tunes are practally twins! A great download for all!! Hunchback 2: Game rip "Hunchback 2" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [2/10] A C64-Lullaby sort of thing... Would sound much better with strings and filters and bass and all of that cool tekno stuff!!! Dizney suck. Spy vs Spy: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Evil vs Good" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [8/10] I prefer my one: Spytek, A nice breakbeat if ya' ask me! The other one is quite annoying... Take no notice of that... Green Beret: Game rip "Garbage Beret" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [2/10] I disagree with both 'a you guys. It sucks --and this is one of dreamfish's "Good" days. I know the C64 memories are quite nice, but if there was a old C64 game with a 10min music which was just a ear-piercing whistle... Would you call that a nice memorable song??? I respect Galway but all musicians make there mistakes! Shao-Lin's Road: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Spa-Lin's Road" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [7/10] Nice Melody ;). Pretty good for only 4k... Sounds like the sort of thing I'd here on the intellivision!.. Worth getting :-) Ninja Gaiden: Game rip "aka Shadow warrior" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [9/10] This review was originally created months ago but I didn't remember it was actually Ninja Gaiden, not shadow warrior. Well here it is: Shadow Warrior game : Great music. For a chiptune this is supurb. Sort of the music mel'o' dee would make infact!!! ; ) Shadow warrior intro : Masterpiece, a speedy masterpiece. A great song... maybe to advertise a game or something (It is known the best gamemusic is the advertising music -- its better because it memorises you and makes you want to buy it... A good example is "Alien breed special edition"). It has so much effort packed up inside it! This song has tonnes of energy stored up within, waiting to be unleashed!!!!!!!! Rage, The: Game rip "Yeah! Much Better!" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [8/10] Much, much better than the remix by dreamfish. This song is mixture of these games: Alien Breed 2 Ninja Gaiden/Shadow Warrior Expert pinball pinball fantasies Agression and a few others I think... This song is a mix of Techno, Oldskool, Trance and Gamemusic... I think its worth getting! Rage, The: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Boring..." (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [1/10] Tell me something - has dreamfish ever done good music? The answer is of course no. It sounds like the original melody sounds good but the remix is crap. No wonder only a few of his songs were actually used in a game... Scout: Arranged/Remixed tunes "It’s ballistic!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [8/10] The start of it is the coolest part I just love all of those NES sounds, NES snares and NES hihats! A melody will come into this tune but only at 1.30. Jeroen Tel is quite good at making songs (especially of the scene), but no-one can beat david wittaker or Martin Galway... I think in the C64-ing leader board there will be: 1st-David Wittaker 2nd-Martin Galway 3rd-Jeroen Tel. A maybe-get for C64-ers! Pang: Game rip "Why Download???" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jul 2004) [2/10] I shouldn’t really review this but I’m just trying to tell you how awful these 2 songs are and to tell you that if you want to download this, you would be a fool. Pangfinal is only 20 secs and sounds like old disney music which has been kept on a cassete and stored for decades in a dusty box, and it was made by a evil musican who liked to kill people by them listening to his music!!!!! pangpresent is once again short short short - 1.39... When you think about it, it is a good thing, it means less horror! Bahamut Lagoon: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Bahamut Lagoon - What a nice game name" (by Dr. Spa, 12 Jul 2004) [10/10] This IT is the best IT I've ever heard!!! I have heard IT 1000 times and I've never got round to reviewing IT. (Enough about the ITs ok, I just don't like ITs for some reason - maybe because I can't play it on PlayerPRO and I have to use stupid SoundJam). It starts off in a very orchesteral way - sort of like monkey island 2 - anyway it sort of turns into a march sort-of thing... I luv the stringz!!! Berties Animal Kingdom: Game rip "Bertie's animal hell" (by Dr. Spa, 12 Jul 2004) [2/10] Usually when you download a package with a name like this (like Bill's Tomato game or Blinky's scary school) you know that the music can't be at all good. This music is too repetive uses weird chimes and weird "chinks" and "brians". A definate bummer! Escape: Game rip "The MID version is better" (by Dr. Spa, 11 Jul 2004) [2/10] first of all the escape which I play doesn't have this music, nor it uses MODS. These modules are very bad... no.1 is uhh boring and no.2 stays in your head for some reason dispite its crap. I say if you want to escape and be free go for the MID version -- one of the best MIDs I've heard in my opinion! Uninvited, The: Arranged/Remixed tunes "You're uninvited to this review!" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jul 2004) [9/10] With just 2 piano samples Lis Vendor has created a most spectacular masterpiece. I love the start bit when it echos! Its really effective! Nearer the end it gets a tad boring because it turns into more of a classical piece than a gamemusic. Still get it though ;). Arcade Fruit Machine: Game rip "rather calm but speedy" (by Dr. Spa, 9 Jul 2004) [8/10] Thumbz up guyz! If you like Pinball/Snooker sort of music this is the way to go! Oxide: Arranged/Remixed tunes "O*X*I*D*E" (by Dr. Spa, 4 Jul 2004) [10/10] I love these tunes, Most of the ones I like are the fast and scary ones - Like Boss and Menu! I think The Boss theme is the best, second Menu, third ingame 3, forth ingame 1 and last and least End of Game. End of game is only 20 seconds so it doesn't deserve much credit. If you look on the Modarchive - http://www.modarchive.com - and download all of Awesome's songs, you will be quite suprised... Guess what, the average rating of all of her songs are 9.89/10!!!!!!!! Abra Cadabra: Game rip "Abra Cad-Cobra" (by Dr. Spa, 3 Jul 2004) [2/10] Silly baby music. Using only flutes and little chimes! A must NOT get! Pop-Pop: Game rip "Pop da beatz" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Jul 2004) [10/10] I'll make this review a quick one... I don't have much time to spare, its nearly midnight so I better get going... Ok. All of these tunes are long. In a nice way I mean... Most of them 6-8mins. Anyway to get to the musical side of the download, I will tell you this; Ambrosia software don't make a game with bad music. This music was made for a breakout game and here it is. This music is the best for nightclubs, discos, etc.. A bit like Kraftwerk in a way but much better! :). The best bit of these songs are all the hihats and stuff... They make the music sound very organised and energetic. Big greetz to mirsoft for the kindness of downloading them and uploading them!!! GREEEEEEETZ!!! Super Mario Advance: Arranged/Remixed tunes "More Mario!" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Jul 2004) [5/10] Nice melody, I've never heard this before but it sounds good. Made probaly for little kids. Steel Fighters: Game rip "!!!!WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Jul 2004) [10/10] THIS IS THE BEST TUNE I'VE EVER HEARD! TRUST ME GUYS, IF YOU DOWNLOAD THIS YOU'LL GO WILD!!! IF I WERE TO LOOSE ALL MY 3500 MOD SONGS ALL STORED UP BUT I COULD KEEP ONE IT WOULD BE THIS ONE!!!!!! NOT BECAUSE OF MEMORIES OR ANYTHING, JUST BECAUSE THIS SONG IS THE BEST SONG IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM. EXACTLY 10 MINUTES LONG, THAT MEANS MORE MORE MORE FUN!!! A CRAP GAME LIKE STEEL FIGHTERS DOESN'T DESERVE THIS SOUNDTRACK! UNREAL OR ANOTHER OF THOSE FANTASTIC GAMES - OR ONE OF THOSE NEW MODERN FINAL FANTASIES - SHOULD DESERVE THIS!!! MUSIC FIT FOR A KING OR QUEEN!!!! P.S, MARTIN GALWAY OR ROB HUBBARD IS NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS THIS... THEY STILL ARE SUPURB BUT THIS, THIS CAN REALLY PUMP UP THE SOUND AND, AND... There's no other way to say it this is the best and no-one else's point of view will change it. My case is closed! Another P.S, 10/10 is not good enough I would investigate in a 10/10 with extra extra extra bonus points if I were mirsoft! 1869: Game rip "How much years are there?" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Jul 2004) [7/10] Very Atmospheric and sad. When you listen to it for the first few seconds you might say "Dr. Spa's a nutter! this aint atmospheric!". Well thats what I thought when I written this review but after about 7-10 secs it does... From there it builds up to be a classical/orchesteral piece. Zak McKracken: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Zak the McKracknell" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Jul 2004) [9/10] Well this is good... Defently not as good as the Sequel but this one still has some goodness to it; May I begin? Ok. It atats off like the other one, sort of same melody... Just like spy movies and murder mysteries. It then follows on with some "digdug" samples... After that it gets a tad too annoying... Too improve it I would replace the voice/shamus with a more bass-y sample... Or atmospheric drums perhaps...! Mr. Heli: Game rip "Mr. Hell (!!!)" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Jul 2004) [1/10] These tunes are badly ripped and sounds dreadful. That is all I can say about these numerous crappy tunes! Mega Man: Arranged/Remixed tunes "A mix of good and bad" (by Dr. Spa, 2 Jul 2004) [7/10] blazeman - Classical rubbish, after some time it gets better :) iceman stage - Good but, god the saw wave is so loud megaman from frostbite - it starts off like march-music, really creative with the strings (bombman) cutman - it shows you how nes-music can be so great. Qum is just excellent at remixing Elecman - LOUD! - And all of the Square-waves are like LOUDER! elecman - That's better... Really nice remix by Qum, but defently not as good as cutman :) megaman vs elecman - Come on zalza, you can do better than that! MM1 - Bombman - Great Song. Samples: nothing but triangle, square and SHHHHHH! And of Corse Casey McCann ones!!! Fireman - Well, This is the best!!! Nearly all of the Megaman 1 melodies arent that good (except for cutman) but this, this is excellent! The start is better than the beggining though... What! 33 seconds!!! Gimme a break! Iceman - As like the one by Nitro everything is perfect except for that ear-peircing saw-tooth/wave thing. CHANGE IT!!! Boss Selecter - Used in alot of Mega Man sequels but I just thought that I should dump it in Megaman 1 seeing as though it is the most well known sequel of Megaman... Btw.. The music, Well... First of all a little twiddle of the volume is reccamended then it should be ok, but when it comes to playing it, it doest sound that good - 99% Capcom/Bun Bun's fault for such a dumb melody. The only good part is the last 2 seconds!!! This is because it was a tinsy little ending added by Casey which wasn't actually used in Mega Man... Plus it is only 12 puny seconds!!! Honestly! Capcomm! Well, Let's just say Cutman, by Qum is THE BEST! Bill's Tomato Game: Game rip "A MUST GET - NOT!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 1 Jul 2004) [2/10] Hmm... What describes these tunes... Cheap, Horrible, Diabolical quality, Made in a flash... I don't know probally all of those. The only songs I can see which are worth listening to (apart from its tinsy samples) are Machine 1 & 2, Cool melodies... But the others can go in the trash! Golgo 13: Arranged/Remixed tunes "-Top Secret Episode" (by Dr. Spa, 1 Jul 2004) [9/10] Yes, I love this! It reminds me of a cross between Medival music, Folk Music and Orchesteral Music. What can I say? It's professional! Bomb Mania: Game rip "Game Music Mania" (by Dr. Spa, 1 Jul 2004) [10/10] Let’s go over them shall we... Bomb Mania (!!!) = This is what real gamemusic sounds like!!! Expressing and well thought out!!! If someone said “What does gamemusic sound like?” You could say “It sounds like this...” And you could play this tune! Bomb Mania Gamemover = “Atmospheric” Says Dr. Spa. “Interesting and Quick” Says My friend Ali. Bomb Mania Level End = “Very nice transition” Says Dr. Spa Hope You enjoy listening to it!!! Zak McKracken 2: Game rip "Zak the Cracker" (by Dr. Spa, 1 Jul 2004) [10/10] James Bond Music!!! But apart from all that spy stuff, you will find lots of lead/acid effects (better known as filter effects) so it isn’t really just one Action-y melody! (Incase you don’t know a filter effect is when an instrement fades into another) --Also another filter (often used with acid songs) are when sounds sound the same instrement but it sort of is a step of fading (you probally wont understand me!). If they are numbered (1, 2, 3, 4 etc...) it will go 1, 2, 1, 3, 2, 3, 2, 4... Quickly of course. OK, enough about filters. Btw... I say wolf must be Jeroen Tel standard - No-one in various authers is that good. As I have said many times before - All of the samples are in exactly the right place! Ghostbusters: Game rip "SID vs MID vs MOD" (by Dr. Spa, 28 Jun 2004) [7/10] This is where they place: 1-MOD-Much better remixes 2-SID-The Melody does not pick up like the MOD version but this one has much better sounds :) 3-MID-Why not use Quicktime 5 instrements it only uses the normal piano, soprano sax and all that stuff. Grow up man! Use a MIDI keyboard if it helps! Super Mario Bros: Arranged/Remixed tunes "The best arcade game ever!" (by Dr. Spa, 28 Jun 2004) [9/10] The Best tunes with a melody to die for! The ones I uploaded, Maxime Abbey and NeSmUsA, are some of the best ones. Not too keen on Nesmusa this time but Maxime Abbey has really done a remix! The other melodies are cool too: Underground - There's alot of these ones, There not really great but they are also tiny little memories! Water - Not reconisable at the start due to not much Water levels but if you listen closely you can hear the water music Castle - I cant play it!!! Shame because the real soundtrack is so cool! Starman - Too quick and uhh... how can I explain it... hmm... Too simple THE END. BMX Simulator: Arranged/Remixed tunes "BMX = Big Music X" (by Dr. Spa, 28 Jun 2004) [10/10] OK, Number 1 thing to do; Turn your volume down! After that it sounds perfect! PERFECT PERFECT OLDSKOOL!!! Matt Gray Could not have composed this better and Wire-- Wire is just like the best C64 cloner in this universe!!! Always the master for those melodies. Watch out BMX, This is the place to go! P.S - This isn't as good as "Elavator Action". Nothing, I repeat Nothing, is better than the music from elevator Action! Tetris (Consoles): Arranged/Remixed tunes "Tetris (Consoles) : Arranged/Remixed tunes" (by Dr. Spa, 27 Jun 2004) [10/10] This is what I call a melody!!! The ultamite Game boy experiance!!! I always try to find loads of remixes for this. Lots of them are either Chiptunes or C64-Related stuff. Who ever made this melody must be a genious! Mother: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Mother Goose" (by Dr. Spa, 27 Jun 2004) [2/10] This is the wrong package!!! There is no such game called mother!!! This is The EARTHBOUND Music!!! Well, Infact who cares what this is; Lis Vendor usually manages to Outtrack them but this time it is all wrong!! Back To The Future Part 3: Arranged/Remixed tunes "How can you go back to the future... Forward to the future maybe..." (by Dr. Spa, 27 Jun 2004) [7/10] There isn't very much to say 'bout tis tune it has a quite nice sample rate. A 60's sort of Jazz medley and it has some nice drums to it :). I don't reconise this in the game rips though? Mega Man 2: Arranged/Remixed tunes "MIDI MAN 2" (by Dr. Spa, 26 Jun 2004) [10/10] You can be sure to find your dreams here! Most are the tunes are between 1.00-2.00 long. They are all from very nice medleys in Megaman 2. (Original by Capcomm and Bun Bun). In case you are wondering, I was the one who uploaded all of the Flashman tunes - The best megaman song ever!!! Magnes: Game rip "MAG-NESMUSA" (by Dr. Spa, 25 Jun 2004) [10/10] Very alike the NESMUSA soundtracks only better!!! OK, You are probaly thinking because the filesizzes are so low it will sound a real chippy disaster. WRONG. Well of corse its chip but it isn't that LOUD, LOUD, LOUD, LOUD, LOUD, LOUD, stuff... Not that ambient chip stuff, But, This is *New Age Chipmusic* --Well apart from the Main menu! Tiny little nes tunes Aladdin: Game rip "[Grunt]" (by Dr. Spa, 25 Jun 2004) [7/10] Yeah my review would sort of say the same. Tune number 1 sounds like the film music. The other sounds like "Arabian Nights : Game Rip (MOD)". Lots of bells and vibes and things... I say why didn't Mirsoft allow the one I uploaded "Prince Ali". It was only a remix! Air Bucks: Game rip "Does the Bucks mean these sorta things: $" (by Dr. Spa, 25 Jun 2004) [3/10] This music doesn't even deserve to be rated. It should be put in a section like "The Music Dump" or something. This music is so dull and slow... Btw... Did it say new-plane or something, Why would getting a new plane be so dull and boring; is it a plastic one??!!! System Shock 2: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Game of the Century" (by Dr. Spa, 25 Jun 2004) [10/10] This also has to be the music of the century too. It's about 4mins long. It starts off as atmospheric as the original system shock titles do, and after adding a few cymbals, hihats and snares, it changes its melody... Into something much better using this great pingpong effect --that is if you know what that means. It means when a instrement is played, instead of looping it or stopping it, it goes backwards!!! Nuts and Milk: Game rip "Nutz & Milk make Ya' go nutz" (by Dr. Spa, 22 Jun 2004) [9/10] It starts off as it's original theme and then it is the ingame music... It picks up the pace a bit with those weird bass drum samples. Well it really aint that good but I think because it was a real attempt of converting the original, REAL soundtrack from Nuts & Milk, I think it deserves a 9/10. Btw... I'm being very generous :) Virtua Racing: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Isn't it supposed to be virtual racing???" (by Dr. Spa, 22 Jun 2004) [7/10] Well, Classification: Theme, Racing Game. It's a real classic for old racing games. I think it would sound a bit better on an arcade system or something in chip-form. This is like TOO REPETETIVE Monty on the Run: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Monty's been on the run for simply AGES!" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jun 2004) [10/10] This is what I call music! GET GET GET!!! That song by M.Birch is just brilliant!!! It deserves a good listeneing to! Super Mario Land: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Super Mario or Super Music" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jun 2004) [7/10] A few ambient chip ones from MAF. A loud one from Reflex and some Game Rips from the other unknown guy. Top Gun: Arranged/Remixed tunes "The Arcade Experiance" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jun 2004) [10/10] Wo-ho-hoay! This tune turns out to be great chipmusic. The start reminds me of when I tryed to TORTURE a tune with outragously high sounds... But then it picks up and it turns into more of a racing tune :) Goonies 2, The: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Non-Goony" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jun 2004) [8/10] Great Melodies. Some of them really sound horrible and ear-peircing but some are quite nice... Highly Reccomended Commando: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Commander" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [7/10] I uploaded the highscore tunes, There actually quite nice... Worth checking out ; ) Operation Wolf: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Operation Yolk" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [5/10] Not at all worth downloading. The reason why I uploaded this is all the other music is cool so that might persuade others or mirsoft himself to upload some songs to this archive Balloon Fight: Game rip "Fight of the Balloons" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [8/10] A remember the music well, listening to it while playing the game. That is the ingame tune. If I had a gameboy I would know the other one as well but I don't so it doesn't sound as good. Tomb Raider: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Tombstones" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [10/10] Dance Remix!!! Cool Bass Samples!!! A real treat for those who play the game ; )... Plus all the sound effects included!!! Deflektor: Arranged/Remixed tunes "The music made me puke!" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [9/10] Great game, Stupid songs. Even if this is a remix, the melody of the songs (which count) are awful. Boo, Hiss to deCRAPtor [1/10] ...Tut, Tut. That is what I thought a long time ago. After uploading the real gem "androi.xm" it all changed. I realised how much thinking was put in so, I don't think it will be 1/10 anymore... [9/10] Virtual Pong: Game rip "Virtual Pong" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [10/10] The Best Tekno-Acid song you can ever hear!! It is best in melodies, listenability, non-repetetive, rhythm, samples, EVERYTHING!!! Take your time to listen to this. For it is the source of music!!!!!!! A wimpy old game like Pong does not deserve such excellent music!!!!!!! Wizball: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Take a Wiz" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [6/10] once again dreamfish has made a piece of ear-piercing rubbish. Using only 6 or 7 Tracks... The one by Buzzer is brilliant! Ok, I know it's only few seconds long but it reminds me of in the hospital waiting room... Sitting there for absolutely ages! X-Men: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Planet X" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [9/10] Cool Song, Straight from the movie, It really sounds nice, with all those echoing samples. Hit the snare baby!!! Z: Arranged/Remixed tunes "...VMXYZ!" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [7/10] You Win - A victory song!!! Stringz, Basss and much more -- a very nice victory jig! Z - C64 Rules Man! Great samples, Great Leads!!! COOL!!! With a filter effect as well! Base Jumpers: Game rip "Bass Jumpers" (by Dr. Spa, 19 Jun 2004) [10/10] Great Baseball music! A must get! Deluxe Galaga: Game rip "DELUXE!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 19 Jun 2004) [9/10] Originally released as "blitz" and used for Deluxe Galaga. I say! It's much better than that old beepy music on the arcade! A real contribution to synthesizer and chip music. The chippy part is at the end though : ) Warhawk (Firebird): Arranged/Remixed tunes "(Not Warcow!!!)" (by Dr. Spa, 19 Jun 2004) [8/10] Very nice melodies here, some are quite ambient and some are rather fast :). "Warhawk main theme" is the best one -- It reminds me of Age of Wonders alot!!! The other one is "proteus" - dispite the weird saw waves it is the quickest and most energetic song inside this package. Last Ninja Remix, The: Game rip "Ninja Mahem!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Jun 2004) [9/10] Starts off very well, very nice melodies too!!! After a while it gets a teeny bit boring and a bit too repetetive, but WOOHAY! WHO CARES!!! ITS COOOL!!! DNA Warrior: Game rip "* DNA * (2)" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Jun 2004) [5/10] The one from UnexoticA is using to much high pitch and low pitch samples and none in the middle, and as many people know a low sound and a high sound, at the same time, creates Discords NOT Concords. I quite like the fact of a chorus though, even if it doesn't sound right : } DNA Warrior: Arranged/Remixed tunes "* DNA *" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Jun 2004) [7/10] Quite simple but it soon picks up a bit at around 00.44 and gets the rhythm. It then picks up a melody, And then, well... it doesn't change much... 1942: Arranged/Remixed tunes "1942 music" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Jun 2004) [2/10] Repetetive and boring. Stardust: Game rip "DusT Of tHe aCiD" (by Dr. Spa, 17 Jun 2004) [10/10] Really Really well made, It really goes intense. It starts off with a sort of acid effect and after a couple of minutes have gone, or until about the first minute it gets really like rave music. Too bad there aint any more Mighty Max: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Mighty Music" (by Dr. Spa, 15 Jun 2004) [7/10] Lots of Funk music and a bit of rock too. Most of it isnt at all good but there are some special parts of it that are really good! :) Amazing Spider-Man, The: Game rip "Unamazing spiderman" (by Dr. Spa, 15 Jun 2004) [2/10] No way! This song deserves to be thrown in the wastebasket. It consists on saying sp-sp-spi-spide-spiderm-sp-spiderma-... and the musical side of it --- I don't wanna talk about it, it's a painful subject. Alien Breed 2: Game rip "Spa-lien" (by Dr. Spa, 15 Jun 2004) [9/10] Sounds like a music from a very hard Strategy or Logical game... It then fades into a very dark zone - Sounding like a game over scene... Ripped very well in my opinion. Think Twice 2: Game rip "Mirsoft, Think twice about uploading this..." (by Dr. Spa, 15 Jun 2004) [1/10] Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. It sounds like garbage. It sounds like the music on a Lasor 210. Don't even think about getting this. It is evil!!! Bangkok Knights: Game rip "Bang Bang Bang" (by Dr. Spa, 15 Jun 2004) [5/10] Not the best c64 conversion I've seen... It needs a few touches like a few more samples, less repetitivity and less length maybe... I don't know, if you've got a c64 I would think it would be nice to have... Paperboy: Game rip "Pass the paper" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jun 2004) [7/10] nice tunes straight from the game, Lots of sinewaves in the ingame and lots of square waves in the theme. Lion King, The: Game rip "King of Da Jungle" (by Dr. Spa, 13 Jun 2004) [6/10] A rather calm and jungly sort of music. The thing is it doesn't really sound like the sort of music you would find on the film. Time Runners 01: Game rip "A Total Disgrace!" (by Dr. Spa, 11 Jun 2004) [1/10] How could parpito (whatever his name is) like this. It is a disgrace, A mistake. It's like when you first get your new tracker and you try to make music for the first time in your life, You usually make some songs called "Test", "Test1", Test2"... It sounds like these. Like a total thick-o made this! No wonder I've seen the Time Runners soundtrack album being sold for only 50p - (english) / about 75 cent - (USA). 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 1/10 Airwolf: Arranged/Remixed tunes "More Memories and melodies" (by Dr. Spa, 11 Jun 2004) [10/10] "airwolf2" is a very bouncy, bass-y tune. It is so good I can barely manage to press stop when I'm playing this. Like when reading a good book. I like to listen non-stop to it!! "airwolf theme" is a super-soundtrack from wire (yet again). The reason why I don't _always_ listen to it is its a bit too loud; Apart from that lets just face it there Martin Galway standard. Another World: Game rip "...Too Right!" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [7/10] It reminds me of the music from the macintosh game called HyperBall (or Bebop). The same aaahs, same AAAAAGHS!, same bass's, same rhythms... Terminator 2 Arcade Game: Game rip "Terminator to da Max" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [6/10] Well it isn't really that good but a few of them are worth getting... The remixed one is rather nice after some time... But the others aren't as good... Blob, The: Game rip "Blobba - De - Blob" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [8/10] Very bouncy music. It uses a bouncy bouncy bass and bouncy bouncy strings. A music to dance and laugh to! Beyond the Ice Palace: Game rip "Beyond the earth" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [10/10] This is the best C64 tune anyone could ever hear! EVEN BETTER THAN ARKANOID!! It's 4 x 4 beat gives it it's style and it's weird samples gives it the weird off-springs!!! ALL REVIEWERS SHOULD REVIEW THIS AND EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD DOWNLOAD THIS!!! -- NOW! Super Contra: Game rip "A great tune for a great game :)" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [8/10] This really brings back memories!! I really like this game - including it's weird music! Descent 2: Original soundtrack "Descent 2" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [9/10] A real killer! If you don't know what rock is (stupid question) then just download these from http://emugaming.gamemusic.net. Track 11 and Track 02 are the best!!! Mega Man 7: Arranged/Remixed tunes "MEGA MEGA MUSIC" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [10/10] I love the sound of Dj Dark X. His songs are so powerful, so intense, so extreme!!!!! He has really put the power into this one. A real beauty!!! He must make some more!!! Delta: Arranged/Remixed tunes "?????" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [4/10] well this is sorta great but it doesn\'t have much of a melody you see. I uploaded a rather not-so-good tune, so I can\'t talk!! Alien Breed Special Edition 92: Game rip "The Super Super Super Frog!!!" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [10/10] I quite like this tune. I can remember hearing it on the advert page of alien breed special edition. There's lots of techno bits inside this tune and lots of acid bits too!! It's defently worth the download... So go on, what are you waiting for?!! Alien Breed 3D: Game rip "WHAT CAN I SAY???" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [2/10] A real alien type of music. Crap! It just is so simple and too much use of that bad-quality snare. AB3D (alien breed 3D) actually stands for: A big 3-dimensional disaster. It has no rhythm too :( Agony: Game rip "A medival compilation" (by Dr. Spa, 10 Jun 2004) [9/10] WOW! These are the best loader tunes I've ever seen! --Well that is in MOD form... If you like the settlers music you will love this!!! Expert Pinball: Game rip "Proffessional pinball tunes!" (by Dr. Spa, 6 Jun 2004) [10/10] Level 1: Great classical/game music, it sort of is kinda sad, but it really is a masterpiece, it sort of fades into a rock sorta thing level 2: This is pure COUNTRY MUSIC or should I say is a type of country, sort of kiddie's country! level 3: Football music! But I must say the ending is soooooooooooo good ; ) level 4: Really good jazz music, Good to listen to when your on the beach watchin' the sunset selector: Just some kinda sound clip Title: Great samples, great melody, great everything! Boom (Macintosh): Game rip "The Best-Sounding, Good Quality tunes I've ever heard" (by Dr. Spa, 5 Jun 2004) [10/10] This Package is stunning!!! It really hits the spot!!! Hazard Ball: Game rip "YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!" (by Dr. Spa, 5 Jun 2004) [10/10] Totally the best. It is an imspiration, with all kinds of music, techno, dream, fantasy, jungle... Everything!!!! Mirsoft was right, this rocks! Other should review it! Double Dragon 3: Game rip "Well, Better than the others" (by Dr. Spa, 5 Jun 2004) [9/10] I have to say this is even better than DD2... compared with DD1 this would be gold!! I would reccamend water 2... I think if you have already played the game listening to the good music is even better! Excitebike: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Very Very Very Very Short but Good" (by Dr. Spa, 4 Jun 2004) [8/10] ExciteBike is played by me on the arcade all of the time and guess what, one of the main reasons I play it is to hear da music! Lesuire Suit Larry: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Ha Ha!" (by Dr. Spa, 4 Jun 2004) [9/10] Very silly music, the quality one I think is either the nice clean sampled one by Whiskeymusic or the chip larry the piggy music by beathawk! Ghostbusters: Arranged/Remixed tunes "*GhOsT*bUsTeRS*" (by Dr. Spa, 4 Jun 2004) [10/10] Yeah! Now that is the melody all summed up in 3 small chipz. It really brings back memories and melodies of the past!!! Castlevania 3: Arranged/Remixed tunes "A Clone" (by Dr. Spa, 4 Jun 2004) [4/10] The one I uploaded (K'Yorl) is a clone to double dragon 1 first of all it uses the same samples and second wire makes practally the same music as K'Yorl does. So if you don't wanna download the whole 550k thing just download the DD1 archive... Burning Rubber: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Reggae beat!" (by Dr. Spa, 4 Jun 2004) [8/10] This has more of a reggae beat than the original ones. Anyway this one is based on the macintosh version of burning rubber not the Amstrad CpC one. Black Lamp: Arranged/Remixed tunes "A 20 Sec Tune" (by Dr. Spa, 4 Jun 2004) [7/10] The one by Anak/Czm is great it sounds sad but it creates an atmosphere!!! Beverly Hills Cop: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Yeah, those were da tunes" (by Dr. Spa, 27 May 2004) [9/10] These are much getter than the original ones... They are much more creative and they use much cooler samples!!! :) ;) Duck Tales: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Ducktales review" (by Dr. Spa, 3 May 2004) [6/10] ZALZA!!!!!!!!! It has a rather catchy melody and is nice to listen to. It is worth downloading: it will take only one second! The other one is totally Thee worst 7 Colors: Game rip "Classical Pieces" (by Dr. Spa, 3 May 2004) [4/10] There isn't much point of downloading this. It's Chok-A-Blok of Classical stuff. The samples aint bad but they don't seem that "real". You know how sometimes you here a bad quality tune which has (let's say a tipani) sometimes it doesn't sound that nice... The reason is that it doesn't sound like a "real" tipani. It's the same with 7 colours music... Dragon's Lair: Arranged/Remixed tunes "A Bad One" (by Dr. Spa, 2 May 2004) [1/10] What was this composer thinking when he made the music... It is the worst, worst of samples, worst of quality, worst of everything!!! This deserves a [ - 100000000000 / 10 ] Disposable Hero: Game rip "Acid / Trance music" (by Dr. Spa, 29 Apr 2004) [8/10] I must comment on the fabulous "level 2 remix" by hein. It starts off with a mysterious atmosphere, it reminds me of some underwater action games. Then it gets a bit acid-y. All the others aint anything special : ) Bomberman: Arranged/Remixed tunes "0 / 10" (by Dr. Spa, 29 Apr 2004) [1/10] One of them was very badly made (too rushed plus it only used 2 samples) and the other one made by has a too-repetive melody Tip - Get Bomberman Online; Much, Much, Much, Much, Much better Double Dragon 2: Game rip "C = Y = B = E = R" (by Dr. Spa, 29 Apr 2004) [9/10] One things for sure, It's better than the MOD from double dragon 1. This one is a really TEKNO song. It sounds like the song from cyberball - cybertitle. Arkanoid: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Pure Martin Galway" (by Dr. Spa, 29 Apr 2004) [10/10] Well, I think the best tunes I've heardare these ones by Wire: Arkanoid (weighing 36k): Great looped instrements. This is the best music I have ever heard on the arcade system - Great samples too ; ) Arkanoid (weighing 46k): The best ever has just got even better, After playing this the melody just gets stuck in your mind!!! Arkanoid Title Music: It starts off very C64-y, then it starts to turn into a acid/trance/dance sort of thing... Utopia: Game rip "~ Mix ~" (by Dr. Spa, 29 Apr 2004) [7/10] I like the rhythm from ingame 1 I like the speed from ingame 2 I like the start of main tune I like the C64-String samples from title Enjoyable music... Mine Bombers: Game rip "Un-Genre-able" (by Dr. Spa, 24 Apr 2004) [6/10] A type of game/jazz/chip/SID sort of song. The samples are creative but the melody could inprove a tiny bit :) Tango Master: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Genre: Music??? Nahhhh" (by Dr. Spa, 23 Apr 2004) [1/10] This is defently NOT music! It is Puke! It's just a really really really really really bad quality chiptune. RUGAR has no sence what tango is and tango isn't. Take "TANGO.MOD" from the modarchive (MY TANGO) That is tango, isn't it??? Plus RUGAR needs more practice with XMs, He's more intrested in ITs. Mr. Nutz: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Silly Jazz" (by Dr. Spa, 23 Apr 2004) [8/10] Just 4 Kidz!!! Nice Circus-y music to listen too Zelda 4: Link's Awakening: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Great Themez" (by Dr. Spa, 23 Apr 2004) [7/10] The themesong is excellent, that is why I went out of my way to find zelda 4 MODs; This is what I have found: zelda 4 - maintheme: This is GREAT. It sort of starts out ambient just like monkey island 2 theme and then it becomes rather dancey/synthy with strange ambient sounds. A supurb mod to listen to in ya spare time. Zelda 2: Arranged/Remixed tunes "More Zelda" (by Dr. Spa, 23 Apr 2004) [3/10] From zelda 2: Kinda scary sound clip Zelda 2 (town theme 1) : Not nice... Zelda 2 (town theme 2) : Well. This is repetive medevil music, It starts off with an annoying Tipani legend of zelda: Don't wanna talk about it, too ear peiiircing Zelda: Zelda 2 isn't it??? it sounds like it... On http://amp.dascene.net it says that it is zelda 1 FACE IT (zelda dead): Sad chip... Rather nice... Zelda goes chip: Mr. Real is REAL with this one ; ) Descent: Game rip "!! SpAcE mUsIk !!" The ones which slightly stand out are: Theme, Techno, Rock, Harlem. Although Techno has the worst samples I have EVER seen, I give it a 4/10 Mega Man 2: Arranged/Remixed tunes "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I guess that ingame 1 is a Great rock-tune with some synth effects nearer the end (10/10). Ingame 2 is a funk-rock tune with some really good snares, hihats etc...
