  • "Pleased..." (by Ryana, 10 Jul 2004) [9/10]
...to be here, of course. To even sample this fine piece of music is to be in heaven... well maybe not that far, but pretty good anyway.
Good music, worth-while listning to. 9/10.

  • "EverQuest Composer" (by EverQuest Composer, 26 Feb 2007) [10/10]
I wrote this music, and I've written lots more. I also am a programmer and wrote the interactive MIDI engine, and sound engines. Check out my website to get my "ClassicalThenRock" versions of EQ and other music. I arranged and recorded all the music in a combination of classical and rock styles. I think you'll enjoy it!
    Check them out at www.everquestcomposer.com

PS my rating is high, cause I'm biased!

  • "Qaulity and Quantity" (by Angels In Armor, 21 Sep 2007) [9/10]
Wow I think this has been the easiest experience with downloading any kind of music I have ever had. Very fast, also high in quality...KUDOS,

  • "Thank you!" (by - Ðanse -, 16 Nov 2008) [9/10]
Fantastic. I played EQ back when it first began, and listening to this brought back alot of good memories.

Wonderful forests and mountains, Kelethin and Kaladim, the bridges of the Karanas, it all came flooding back.

    Thank you very much.

  • "Best music in a game EVER" (by MrCool, 18 Nov 2008) [10/10]
Jay Barbeau is a genius. His melodies are deep and moving. Rare that music can actually "bring back" memories? Think about that. Hes atleast half the reason why Everquest was a success! (Or more).

  • "The Addiction" (by argothio, 13 Dec 2008) [10/10]
I used to dream this music. The Music made the game and now we can all get a piece of that feeling it gave us all if only for a moment. Thank you so much for the site.

  • "EQ-Jay Thomas Barbeau" (by anonymous, 27 Apr 2009) [10/10]
Everquest's original sound track was scored by Jay Thomas Barbeau. Though the music is not incredibly deep like classical music, nor trendy like pop music, it is written with heart.

As with any other incidental music, it is basically hit or miss; what makes it so enjoyable to me and some of the other EQ fans is that it inspired us all those years ago in the earlier days of online gaming and still does so today. The beauty of EQ and the music of the game is not great originality nor exceptional quality: it is the presence of simple imagination that is unfortunately lacking in fictional entertainment worlds today.
