DreamAway informationNick: DreamAwayHomepage: none DreamAway says:Hey! DreamAway's reviews:
"Mediocre" (by DreamAway, 10 May 2007) [7/10] Certainly the ideas are unusual. Many of them sound like they were made in haste with just those ideas in mind to make it in deadline or something. With a little bit more working they would have been great. Dew Prism: Original soundtrack "Great moods" (by DreamAway, 10 May 2007) [8/10] They sound decent enough. Many different moods, great in-game music. Give them a try. Most character theme songs sound great. Tales Of Eternia: Game rip "A must for RPG gamers" (by DreamAway, 9 May 2007) [8/10] 'Flying' by Garnet Crow alone makes this soundtrack great. Most of the tracks are short 'n sweet listening. SYMPHONY GAGHARV TRILOGY: The Legend of Heroes III, IV, V "Dear Lord" (by DreamAway, 9 May 2007) [10/10] These are simply awesome! Grandeur and complexity of symphony combined with beautiful tunes and they don't sound awkward at all; Falcom sound team has done an excellent job with arranging. 'Bonds,' 'A Tear of Vermillion' and 'White Witch' left me at verge of tears. Just something you have to try. Magna Carta: Original soundtrack "Jewels" (by DreamAway, 9 May 2007) [10/10] I feel almost sorry for the composer of these tunes because this is what would be called pearls in mud -- the game did NOT deserve these tunes at all. Every one of them is a gentle jewel; relax and listen to them. Someone into peaceful music would love these. But heed my words: don't play the game. The game is horrible. Ending theme 'Time Passes By' is a beautiful piece of music if you ignore the incomprehensible accent ;) And most other tunes are very delicate, too. (Yeah, I'm girly, what can I say.) Lunar 2: Eternal Blue: Original soundtrack "Excellent" (by DreamAway, 9 May 2007) [9/10] An excellent title song with encouraging in game music. They may be typical, but they are certainly entertaining. Strongly recommended. Final Fantasy 6: Game rip "Love these." (by DreamAway, 9 May 2007) [10/10] I may be biased because FF6 is my favorite from all the FF series. But one thing's for sure; these are the kind of music that makes the player appreciate and enjoy the game even more. Well, I mean, it's Final Fantasy so I don't imagine I have to go into that much detail. Terra and Rachel's theme songs are simply beautiful. Devil Summoner Soul Hackers: Original soundtrack "Decent" (by DreamAway, 9 May 2007) [7/10] Most of them are kind of in the range between being decent and great. Overall quality is somewhere along that line, too. They are definitely worth your time, but don't expect too much out of them. Persona 2 Innocent Sin: Original soundtrack "Great tracks" (by DreamAway, 9 May 2007) [8/10] Atlus always had excellent music in all of their titles. Great atmospheric tracks with wide diversity and sytle. The theme song for the Persona series is painfully beautiful. Sword of the Berserk ~ Gut's Rage: Original soundtrack "Susumu Hirasawa rocks!" (by DreamAway, 9 May 2007) [8/10] Forces II, as the title suggests, is another part of Forces by Susumu Hirasawa, the title song for Berserk anime series. Most of the tunes capture the cruel and dark moods of Berserk in general, although some tunes get boring after a while; not a lot of versatile melodies here. Great atmospheric tracks; not fit for exclusive listening, though, EXCEPT for Forces II, which is a kick ass song. Lilly's Atelier The Alchemist of Zalburg: Original soundtrack "You have to have these!" (by DreamAway, 9 May 2007) [9/10] I strongly recommend all of the Atelier series soundtracks, esp. Atelier Lilly and Atelier Iris to those who are looking for some plain delightful music. At first many of them would sound familiar: somewhat typical Japanese fantasy RPG music. But there are numerous melodies that would captivate you. They are definitely worth trying. Speris Legacy, The: Game rip "Memorable" (by DreamAway, 6 Apr 2007) [8/10] For some reason I found these tunes very cutesy-sounding, I don't know why. The tunes capture the image and moods they were intended to do. They are not extraordinary by any means, but melodies in the 'makiah', 'gamemap-2', 'ending' and the title theme are certainly memorable. Space Gun: Game rip "Again, mediocre" (by DreamAway, 6 Apr 2007) [7/10] Interesting ideas and melodies, only they sound rather incomplete. Some tunes just sound like monotone background noises. My favorites were 'Credits' and 'Main1'. Front Mission: Game rip "Great tunes" (by DreamAway, 6 Apr 2007) [9/10] These tunes have amazing quality and satisfactory diverisity. They range from slow, sorrowful and nostalgic 'Karen' to extremely tense 'Rage! Rage! Rage!', and from encouraging battle themes to relaxed and jazzy tunes like 'Bar' and 'Shop'. They are definitely worth trying. Arabian Nights: Game rip "Not bad" (by DreamAway, 6 Apr 2007) [7/10] Just like the title of the game suggests, the tunes are full with (typical) Arabian themes. But that doesn't mean they all sound the same. Most of them are upbeat songs with that weird-ish, lazy sounding Arabic theme. Title song was my favorite. Majin Tensei 2: Game rip "Quality tracks" (by DreamAway, 6 Apr 2007) [9/10] These bring back such memories... For listening itself, some of them can be rather monotone, while I found most of them to be upbeat (I love strong rhythms in music) Not much diversity, but most of these tunes are quality works. Violinist of Hamelin: Game rip "I love it!" (by DreamAway, 6 Apr 2007) [10/10] Any classical music enthusiast will find these tunes delightful! The tunes capture the fun part of the game but also those wonderful melodies from the classical pieces. Even someone not into classical music would like most of them. These tunes are a must! Jaktar: Der Elfenstein: Game rip "Kind of hard" (by DreamAway, 6 Apr 2007) [6/10] Most of the songs are rather boring and monotone. Grasland was the only tune I found to be very good. Mediocre at best. Innocent Until Caught: Game rip "Nothing special" (by DreamAway, 6 Apr 2007) [5/10] Some may even find these tunes boring. It's not like they are all crappy, but certainly these aren't amazing quality works. I don't really recommend them. Fire Emblem 4: Game rip "Classic!" (by DreamAway, 15 Mar 2007) [10/10] I may be biased, but every one of these tunes are delightful! Especially the disturbance in Augustria (stage II music) is a beautiful piece of music. You have to have these! Guilty Gear XX: Original soundtrack "Probably the best from GG series so far" (by DreamAway, 15 Mar 2007) [10/10] Arguably the best soundtrack Daisuke Ishiwatari has worked on with Guilty Gear series so far. All of them are powerful catchy songs, from cute & bright Blue Water Blue Sky (May's Theme) to groovy Haven't You Got Eyes in Your Head (Slayer's Theme). My personal favorites are Liquor Bar and Drunkard (Johnny's Theme) and Calm Passion. Don't miss any of them! :) Dark Vengeance: Game rip "I liked it." (by DreamAway, 15 Mar 2007) [8/10] This game is full of remarkable tunes. Some dark, smooth and serious ones might be rather boring. Upbeat songs are, however, very good -- just what I've expected from Alexander Brandon. The theme song is really good :) Jazz Jackrabbit 3: Game rip "Could have been better" (by DreamAway, 14 Mar 2007) [7/10] These could have been much better. Which is an even sadder reminder of what had become of Jazz series... Most of the songs are not as completed as those from the previous series. They are still worth listening, with interesting ideas very different from previous series, but don't expect another complete 'Jazz'. Rudra's Treasure: Arranged/Remixed tunes "It's not bad, really." (by DreamAway, 14 Mar 2007) [8/10] Rudra's Treasure is often called the last SNES masterpiece, a title not disregarding its music. Give it a try. Some original tracks and not-bad remixes are worth few minutes of listening. Terranigma: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Decent remixes" (by DreamAway, 14 Mar 2007) [8/10] The remixes are Sad Theme, opening theme (Terra Enigma), and Call at a Port. They are all great tunes, and remixes are also quite decent. I especially recommend Terra Enigma and Call at a Port. Seiken Densetsu 3: Arranged/Remixed tunes "Eh... OK" (by DreamAway, 14 Mar 2007) [7/10] The remixes range from satisfactory level to good. (I don't know if it was my file that was corrupted, but the Damn Damn Drum sounded a bit weird.) Anyone who played the game wouldn't be disappointed by the remixes, but don't expect too much. I especially liked the Axe Bring Storm mix. Castlevania 4: Game rip "Wouldn't complain" (by DreamAway, 14 Mar 2007) [8/10] It's a good soundtrack with moderate diversity. Nothing very special, but it's not so horrible that you would start going berserk how it wasted your time. Give it a try :) |
