It is a rock/metal (but not hard) tune with very good guitar sample(s). But it lasts only 36 seconds. Download or not...the choice is yours. ![]() ![]() "Boring" (by J, 16 Oct 2007) [4/10] So, what do you expect, it's tune for a simulator game :) ![]() ![]() "Very good tunes!" (by J, 16 Oct 2007) [7/10] I am not surprised why there aren't more reviews about this Brimble's work. It is very difficult to rate and comment this particular package. If you like techno/house or similar dynamic music then you might end up winding this up on your Hi-Fi and feeling good :) Even if you don't, it is worth downloading and checking these tunes out. ![]() ![]() "Ouch!" (by J, 16 Oct 2007) [3/10] I was curious why such bad reviews so I downloaded it. This is very very bad tune. It's like author was dumped by a girlfriend, and then he went to make this tune. It starts awfully, although it has a few parts that seem like Brimble had a glimpse of inspiration but... I cannot imagine that someone would want to include this tune in actual game. Don't download, it will only make you nervous. You know that music alters the mood :) ![]() ![]() "Very good" (by J, 16 Oct 2007) [8/10] Title song is very good. Serious and kind of Michiel van den Bos alike. (Like in Unreal Tournament 1 but little slower) What I'm trying to say is that this is not a shallow, childish or boring piece. I recommend "05-assassin-special-edition.mod" which seem to be a little more backed up by a slight additional background. ![]() ![]() "DOS Bot" (by Silencer, 14 Oct 2007) [9/10] Now they just have to make a DOS Bot version that runs the game decently. I'm thinking of building an old Pentium 100 system just to be able to play this gem again. ![]() ![]() "Brilliant song, worse rip..." (by azbestor, 11 Oct 2007) [8/10] Not so long ago I ripped that song played under WinUAE in mp3,and it's bit different... I've heard it was main proggramer singing... ![]() ![]() "Gold CD tracks" (by Arancaytar, 7 Oct 2007) [10/10] > "Though, i do remember some other music that was on the actual settlers 2 gold cd-rom." Yes, there were eight audio tracks on the CD. Some of them were just higher-quality versions of some of the 15 in-game midis, but others were unique. I managed to rip the audio tracks from my Gold Edition CD-ROM with iTunes, so if you still have the CD you can get the music that way. I wouldn't mind uploading them, but it's in mp3 and about 62 MB in total. :) ![]() ![]() "Oh so desolate..." (by JM, 5 Oct 2007) [9/10] Dreamweb features one of the most "cyberpunky"-Soundtracks ever penned, they were lucky that Vangelis apparantly wasn't in a court-going mood during the early 90s. Dark, menacing and featuring very well integrated, distorted vocal samples, this soundtrack actually created most of Dreamweb`s intense atmosphere single-handedly. An enormous achievement, especially for its time. NOTE: Haven't downloaded this rip, the review applies to the PC version. ![]() ![]() "As good as it gets" (by JM, 5 Oct 2007) [10/10] This is one of my absolute favourites. I seriously think that this soundtrack pushed some boundaries considering the (absolutely limited) quality standards of General MIDI. And the compositions. The way they change tempo and rhythm, sometimes starting bombastic, then taking four minutes to "fade out", sometimes starting with mere solo instruments, then continuously rising over five minutes to huge, percussive "orchestrations". As with the "Stonekeep"-Soundtrack I reviewed, if you get a chance to plug these tunes into real synths or samplers, do! They shine all the brighter. Note: Haven't yet downloaded this rip, the review applies to my own one. ![]() ![]() "Does those tunes have any names?" (by David98, 3 Oct 2007) [10/10] I would like to know it. What can I say. This music is magic :) ![]() ![]() "Truly inspiring." (by Keiseth, 1 Oct 2007) [10/10] The whole collection is perfect; the remix or arrangements that exist take just enough from the originals while adding in their own flavor and the tracks intending to sound like the originals do so perfectly. There were a couple that had the odd note here and there or one note that went on too long, but they are few and far between if there at all. Particularly, the Battle Music seems to have been covered with exceptional detail. Some great justice done to the incredible boss and fiend music. ![]() ![]() "Mood Music" (by Ambs-Ace, 30 Sep 2007) [10/10] What can I say that hasn't been said already? This music has been awesome for eight years now(!) and still finds its way into my playlists. The only music that has done more to get me in the mood to play a game is the Civ 4 'Baba Yetu' title music. I hear that first sine-sample scale on Foregone Destruction, and by the time the hats come in, my blood is pumping and I'm ready to dodge sniper fire all over again ;) ![]() ![]() "Fantastic" (by J, 27 Sep 2007) [9/10] Those who know about modules & music need only one information to get the point: it's from 1994! ![]() ![]() "The music of Psycho Pinball is finally here in all its glory!" (by Accatone, 27 Sep 2007) [10/10] As a fan of pinball music (especially of 21st Century Entertainment's pinball series, like Pinball Fantasies, Pinball Illusions or Pinball Dreams) I couldn't be happier when I saw that Psycho Pinball's music is released with Mirsoft's latest update. I have been looking for it, well, quite a few years. I have even tried to rip it several times but ultimately I've failed. Whether it is the beautiful guitar solo in the title screen or all the great main table music in full harmony with the table themes, the music of Psycho Pinball (of Codemasters) is nothing short of the music of 21st Century's classic pinball games. The composer Tim Bartlett did really a great job. I guess I should thank Patai 'CoBB' Gergely for making the music available. I now can listen to it whenever I want! Thank you. ![]() ![]() "Qaulity and Quantity" (by Angels In Armor, 21 Sep 2007) [9/10] Wow I think this has been the easiest experience with downloading any kind of music I have ever had. Very fast, also high in quality...KUDOS, Angels In Armor ![]() ![]() "agree" (by RBLeaf, 21 Sep 2007) [10/10] "stats track kicks ass" (by pwnage, 7 Sep 2007) [8/10] First of all 7th legion sounds very similiar to the C&C series music by Frank Klepacki which is a high praise. Download it just for the "stats" track. We are going to war! also Title track and track01 are worth mentioning. 7th legion as a game was great for the card system, videos (I can still hear in my head the into - "Our ancestors departed into the darkness of space, many lives was sacraficed to inure the safty and survival of man kind..." "your whole life was bound to this moment..you...are...the...choisen!" "the most powerful of those legions was the 7th legion"). The game mechanic was not-so-great, but hell yeah, music in this game is something to remember. Matter of fact I will break open my old dusty 7th legion case right now for a little re-visit after ....omg over a decade... ###################### absolutely agree!! ![]() ![]() "Theme Hospital Soundtrack Review" (by zeitona, 20 Sep 2007) [4/10] Hello there. This is my first review for the first download i've done here and i thought i should contribute with the cause. I'm not sure which authors composed wich musics, but considering that some of them were composed by Russel Shaw, they're quite dissapoiting. None of them seem to have real instruments, only "simmulations(?)of them (except, maybe, a piano) and the songs are quite empty. Taking these songs in comparison with the ones from Fable, for example, make it pretty clear how shallow they are. Even considering that these come from a very old game and the authors probably didn't have decent resources by the time, it's really hard to listen to them when you're not actually playing the game. ![]() ![]() "Great Stuff" (by malvin, 19 Sep 2007) [9/10] This is great music. Some tracks are just genius. You gotta get this archive if you like romance. ![]() ![]() "Yahoo!" (by hack.hanz, 16 Sep 2007) [9/10] Yowza, I was looking only for Tyrian 2000 soundtrack, and what I found was no less than all my favorites old games songs as well!! Keep it up! You made my whole week, dude!!
